1. Request Your Ballot

Beginning July 6, 2020

All registered voters received an absentee ballot request form from the Iowa Secretary of State. If you did not receive one, fully complete the Absentee Ballot Request Form (ABR) and mail to:

2. Recieve Your Ballot

Beginning October 5, 2020

 

Your ballot will be sent out no more than 29 days before the election, beginning October 5.

Election is November 3, 2020

Receive your ballot in the mail. Vote. Mail back to:

Step 1: Request Your Ballot:

How to fill out an Absentee Ballot Request form:

  • Have your Iowa Driver’s License handy.

  • If you don’t have an Iowa Driver’s License, you will use your voter PIN. This is on the card sent by the Guthrie County Election Office and IS NOT your SSN or any other number. It is a 4-digit PIN number used mainly by those without an Iowa Driver’s License.

  • Double and triple check EVERYTHING for accuracy.

  • REQUIRED-FILL IN THE SECTION LABELED "CONTACT INFO IMPORTANT" 

      *Note-This will NOT be highlighted in green on your ballot

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mail your request:

  • The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Saturday, October 24. Your request must physically be in the office by 5 p.m. Postmarks only count if postmarked October 19, 2020, or earlier. We recommend sending it out ASAP.

  • If you have a prepaid Absentee Ballot Request, just drop it in the mail ASAP!

  • No prepaid Absentee Ballot Request? You can slip your printed Absentee Ballot Request in an envelope and mail it or drop it off at the Auditors office:

Step 2:Receive Your Ballot:

 

After you put your Absentee Ballot Request in the mail, you can track its progress here: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/absenteeballotstatus/absentee/search. If you don’t see your ballot, contact the County Auditors Office, Phone: (641) 747-3619. 

The Guthrie County Democrats will pick up your ballot and deliver it to the auditors office for you.

Call us at 515-314-6840 to set up a pick up time. We will leave you with a receipt to track your ballot.

In the meantime, share with your friends how easy and safe it is to vote by mail.

 

Step 3: Vote & Mail Your Ballot:

Fill out your ballot. Mail your completed, postage paid ballot.

*The Guthrie County Democrats recommend you mail your completed ballot by October 19th. By law it must be postmarked by November 2nd.
