Don’t have a printer? Email guthriecountydems@gmail.com or call 515-314-6840 and we will mail you an Absentee Ballot Request or call the Guthrie County Auditors Office to request one at 641-747-3619.

How to fill out an Absentee Ballot Request form:

Have your Iowa Driver’s License handy.

If you don’t have an Iowa Driver’s License, you will use your voter PIN. This is on the card sent by the Guthrie County Election Office and IS NOT your SSN or any other number. It is a 4-digit PIN number used mainly by those without an Iowa Driver’s License.

The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Saturday, October 24. Your request must physically be in the office by 5 p.m. Postmarks only count if postmarked October 19, 2020, or earlier.

No prepaid Absentee Ballot Request? You can slip your printed Absentee Ballot Request in an envelope and mail it or drop it off at the Auditors office:

*The Guthrie County Democrats recommend you mail your completed ballot by October 19th. By law it must be postmarked by November 2nd.

Vote at the Polls on Election Day:

November 3 -General Election Day Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Absentee ballots may be delivered in-person to the county auditor’s office until 9:00 p.m.

Important Dates to Remember:

Monday, July 6 – The first day that absentee ballot requests can be accepted by the Guthrie County Election Office for the General Election.

Monday, October 5 – The first day requested absentee ballots can be mailed out to voters for the primary election.
​​

Monday, October 5 – The first day of in person voting at the Guthrie County Auditors Office. The office is open 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Monday, October 19 – Iowa’s designated Worry-Free Postmark Date for mailing in your absentee ballot and voter registration forms. Voter Registration forms which are postmarked on or before today are considered on time to be pre-registered for the primary election, even if they are received after the pre-registration deadline.

Saturday, October 24th – Pre-registration Deadline for the General Election. If you miss the deadline, Iowa still has same-day voter registration! You will need to bring proof of identification and residency for same-day registration.

Saturday, October 24 - Absentee ballot request deadline for voters that want a ballot mailed to them for the primary election. The physical request must be in the Guthrie County Election Office by 5:00 pm. Voters can still vote in person in the Guthrie County Election Office. ​Guthrie County Election Office will be open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Saturday, October 31 - Guthrie County Election Office will be open for 8 hours for early in-person voting for the general election.

Monday, November 2 – Final day for absentee in-person voting at the Guthrie County Election Office. The office will be open 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Tuesday, November 3 -General Election Day Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Absentee ballots may be delivered to the county auditor’s office until 9:00 p.m.
